dry needling

Dry needling is a technique that uses acupuncture needles to target taut bands of muscle tissue that cause pain and mobility restriction. By needling these trigger points, the muscle tissue is able to relax and lengthen. The technique does not relate to acupuncture meridian systems, rather is based in biomedical understandings of muscle tissue.
Dry needling can be used to treat muscle pain, joint pain, headaches, or injury. This technique can be incorporated into your acupuncture treatment, according to provider discretion.
