My name is Johnathan Loritsch (they/them), and I am an acupuncturist and herbalist. My practice is trauma-informed and aimed at integrating wellness of the body and mind. I believe our health is interconnected and that everyone deserves access to the care they need to feel well. In the treatment room I prioritize comfortability and emotional safety for the nervous system. Healing happens faster when our systems are able to relax!

I rely on a combination of acupuncture styles: Japanese, traditional Chinese, and sports medicine acupuncture. These various types of acupuncture allow my treatments to be truly customized around your symptom presentation.

My background is in Midwestern organic farming. The years spent laboring in the soil taught me many things that inform my acupuncture practice today. The first is that food is medicine- a concept well understood by Chinese medicinal practitioners for generations. The second is the power of somatics (having to do with the body & movement). It is healing to move your body and acknowledge connection to the earth, particularly for those of us who have a history of disconnect from those things. I witnessed farming offer non-verbal ways of processing, and that has stuck with me.

I moved to the Pacific Northwest in 2013, and was immediately struck with the cultural awareness of holistic health. There was so much knowledge and diversity of healthcare! This lead me to study at the Seattle Institute for East Asian Medicine (SIEAM), graduating with a Masters Degree in Acupuncture and East Asian Medicine, and specializing in emotional health. I am licensed by the state of Washington, and certified in Clean Needle Technique as well as the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA).

Outside of Chinese Medicine, I love gardening, going on urban hikes, and fermenting.
